Accordionist Dmitry Ponomarev

The opening of a conference, where after the development director's report the room needs to switch to the informal part. Or a corporate event where guests are already tired of the playlist and loud backing tracks. In such moments, an instrument that sounds without amplification and yet draws attention on its own works well.

Dmitry Ponomarev is a virtuoso accordionist, composer and arranger. Laureate of the 63rd Trophée Mondial, one of the world's largest accordion competitions, invited musician of the cultural program of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, finalist of the TV project 'Minute of Fame' on Channel One, multiple laureate of all-Russian and international competitions. Behind him are a competition school and experience performing on big stages.

On stage, Dmitry doesn't just play a program — he tailors it to the audience: from classical and pop pieces to his own arrangements in which familiar melodies sound different. One instrument holds the room without backup dancers or visual effects, and between numbers there's something to tell the guests.
