Largo Duo

Picture this: guests are already at their tables, some are scrolling through their phones, some are waiting for the official part. And then two instruments appear on the stage — an accordion and a bayan. Within a minute the conversations die down: everyone recognizes the familiar melody, from the director to the contractor.

Largo Duo is Irina Barysheva (accordion) and Vera Selezneva (bayan). Both are graduates of the Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, laureates of international competitions and festivals. The repertoire includes classics, rock, Argentine tango, folk and contemporary pop music: the program is tailored to a specific evening.

The duo has performed at the State Kremlin Palace, the Rossiya State Central Concert Hall, Poklonnaya Hill, the MAKS airshow and the Army-2017 forum, and toured in Italy, India, Kazakhstan, China and France. The musicians also appeared on 'Good Morning' on Channel One, on TVC and on the 360 TV channel. On stage it looks simple: two live instruments, acoustics without a bulky rider — and a genre range from Bach to rock and tango.
