About the artist

Picture it: the guests have already gathered, someone is looking for their glass, someone is scrolling through the evening's program, and then strange things start happening at one of the tables. A coin disappears from a colleague's palm and turns up behind his own ear. A banknote is torn and put back together. People lean in closer, forget about their phones — the evening has begun.

Andrey Lavinsky works in two formats. Micromagic — cards, coins, banknotes right in the guests' hands, at arm's length: everything happens right under the viewer's nose and still remains a mystery. Stage magic — fifteen to twenty minutes of large-scale tricks: fire and water, ropes and rings, scarves, canes, candles and coins, changes of color and shape, and in the finale a live rabbit appears from a top hat.

It is important for the client that the artist can be integrated into the program, rather than simply placed as a 'number between blocks.' Micromagic fits well into the guest welcome and buffet: Andrey walks around the tables while the courses are being changed and engages those who usually stay on the sidelines. The stage act is placed in the main program — it holds the room and provides a big picture. Andrey also has character images — an oriental fakir in brocade and feathers, a magician in a top hat — so the act can easily be fitted into a themed evening. He is a laureate of international competitions and festivals, a member of the Presidium of the Russian Association of Illusionists.
