Chamber Orchestra "Violante"

Corporate event planners know: a live orchestra on site changes the atmosphere instantly, but not every ensemble can hold the audience's attention for more than ten minutes. What matters here is the balance between academic precision and the ability to work at an event where the public has come to socialize, not to sit in philharmonic silence.

The Chamber Orchestra "Violante" has been active since 2006. The main format is eight musicians, graduates of Moscow's leading music universities; the lineup flexibly changes to suit the evening's program. The ensemble has performed solo concerts at the House of Music, the Composers' Union, and the Central House of Arts Workers, and has participated in international festivals. In 2011, the orchestra toured 40 cities in France and Switzerland with the theatrical-circus show "Fantastic Symphony" — a joint project with the virtuoso theater "Idee Fixe".

The repertoire is based on classics, contemporary music, and original arrangements by the soloists. Individual numbers turn the performance into a small stage act: "The Surprised Singer" and "Crystal Harp" — singing glasses with a string quartet. On stage, this looks like a change of genres within a single set: the audience listens to familiar tunes and between them catches an effect they don't expect from a string ensemble.
