Tango Orchestra Misterioso is an ensemble with a 15-year history. They play Argentine tango: classical, modern, and Soviet, plus Latin American and jazz compositions in the same style. The program includes instrumental, vocal, and dance numbers. The ensemble's distinctive sound is provided by the bandoneon — an instrument rare in Russia. The lineup also includes piano, violin, cello, and double bass.

Most of the program consists of staged numbers with professional dancers and Argentine tango instructors. The show is costumed, so on stage it looks like a cohesive action: live band, vocals, and a couple in motion, rather than separate concert numbers between toasts.
