About the artist

Guests gather at the entrance, shift from foot to foot, glance at their watches — there are still ten minutes until the start, and so far the atmosphere feels more like a queue at a clinic than a celebration. A familiar picture for any corporate event organizer. Sometimes one detail is enough to change that.

“The Tall Brothers” is a Moscow street theater; the core of the troupe are stilt walkers. Two-meter figures in white and red, Venetian masks, feathers, crinolines. Living statues come to life exactly at the moment when people stop looking at them. Besides stilts, the team includes mimes, jugglers, fakirs and musicians with a brass section — the theater equally organically creates a carnival procession, a welcome at the entrance, a defile in the lobby and a full-fledged act on the stage.

They sew costumes themselves and create the look for the theme of the event — from retro pioneer style to snow-white “birds” and characters in the spirit of commedia dell'arte. The troupe has festival experience: city celebrations and parks, international street theater festivals. They work both indoors with high ceilings and outdoors — they agree in advance how many artists will perform, how long the procession lasts and whether photo sessions with guests are needed.
