About the artist

Picture this: twenty minutes before the corporate event starts, guests are taking their seats, some are scrolling on their phones, some are looking for their table. And then a man walks onto the stage, and after his very first sentence the room falls silent and turns to him. From then on you have nothing to worry about — he owns the evening.

ILLIO (Ilya Akopyan) is a musical theatre artist and the author of the project “ILLIO — Musica dell'anima”. His biography includes the roles of Mercutio in “Romeo and Juliet” and Salieri in the rock opera “Mozart”, and at the St. Petersburg Music Hall he performed the lead role of the mafioso Marcello in the musical “Once Upon a Time in Italy”. He has collaborated with Robertino Loreti, and the presentation of his original album took place in 2016 in the concert hall of the Olympia palace.

This is not a pop act with a backing track and backup dancers, but vocal work with full commitment — from an intimate delivery to a powerful dramatic scene. An artist with a musical theatre background holds attention not with volume but with precision of intonation: the audience listens rather than chats. The Italian and original program in two sets — the minimum order includes 6 songs, and that is enough for the evening to get its own tone.
