Brass ensemble “Olympic Brass”

At a corporate event, the music doesn't start with the first toast, but from the moment guests enter the lobby and hear live sound instead of the usual background playlist. That's when the question arises: whom to invite so that the brass doesn't overpower conversations but enhances the atmosphere.

“Olympic Brass” is a Saint Petersburg brass ensemble formed in 2006 by musicians from classical and jazz schools. Artistic director — Alexey Stepanov. Academic precision and jazz freedom coexist in a single number: the repertoire is based on music from domestic and foreign films in original arrangements by trumpeter Alexander Golikov, alongside classics, jazz of the thirties, Latin and bossa nova, ballads, blues, funk, Balkan melodies, klezmer and world pop hits.

Flexibility of lineup is the main advantage for any venue. A small group performs at cocktail receptions, while a full brass ensemble with percussion takes the stage. They play both with sound reinforcement and acoustically: in the lobby, on the staircase, on open grounds — where equipment only gets in the way. Since 2012, the ensemble has been running its own all-Russian festival of brass instrument performers, so they maintain their level consistently, not just on special occasions.
