Jazz band «Jazz Fruits»

When someone at a corporate event once again makes a toast about synergy, only live sound can save the day. Not a playlist from a speaker, but a saxophone that suddenly rises above the hum of the room and makes people turn around.

«Jazz Fruits» is a Saint Petersburg jazz band: vocals, saxophone, bass, keys and drums. Their repertoire includes classic jazz standards and contemporary compositions, and the musicians focus on live improvisation — each set sounds unique, not like a pre-recorded backing track. They play at venues from cafes to corporate events, so they have experience working with different halls and different audiences.

At an event it looks like this: first the music plays in the background during the cocktail hour and conversations, then the saxophone and vocals gradually come to the fore, and soon colleagues from the neighboring department are singing along to the standards, and someone risks going out to dance. Improvisation is about attention to the room: the musicians sense where to add and where to hold back the sound so as not to interfere with a speaker or a toast.
