The tables are already set, guests are taking their seats, someone is flipping through the evening's program and clearly waiting for the 'official part.' It is precisely at this moment that what will be discussed in the smoking room and in work chats a week later begins at the tables: objects in guests' hands stop behaving predictably, and even the most skeptical employees suddenly lean in closer.

Marat Salyakhov is an illusionist and consultant on illusion acts, a member of the international magicians' community. He works in two formats: stage, where he performs levitation acts, and close-up magic — right at the guests' tables, when tricks happen at arm's length, without a stage or barrier.

The difference is felt immediately: in close-up magic there is no 'auditorium' and 'artist at a distance' — each guest finds themselves inside the act, holds objects themselves and sees everything with their own eyes, without screens or close-ups. On stage, Marat performs a levitation act that reads well from any end of the hall and does not require the audience to hold props.
