Pianist Knari Nersesova

A reception before the conference begins, guests dispersing through the hall, some looking for their badge, some checking email on their phone. At that moment someone is already sitting at the grand piano, and gradually the conversations fade on their own — not because silence was requested, but because the music turned out to be more interesting than the phones.

Knari Nersesova is a jazz pianist, composer and arranger, a student of pianist and producer Andrey Kondakov. She leads the Knari Nersesova Trio and participates in the SONK collective. She plays at the Saint Petersburg JFC Jazz Club — as part of a trio (piano, double bass, drums) or with a guest vocalist.

Her signature is in the arrangements: familiar melodies and jazz standards sound different from the recording in her performance, and that is exactly what holds the attention of those who usually check their watches at corporate concerts. The trio takes up little space, a piano or a good digital piano — and the venue already sounds like a club, not a banquet hall.
