Струнный квартет «Летания»

Picture it: guests have gathered in the lobby, some are looking for their seat at the table, some are leafing through the evening's program. And then, instead of the usual background playlist from the speakers, a live quartet begins to play — two violins, viola, cello. The conversation changes tone on its own, and the welcome turns into the beginning of the event rather than the wait for it to begin.

«Летания» — струнный квартет из Санкт-Петербурга, собрался в 2012 году из студенток консерватории. За плечами — академическая база, а в репертуаре уживаются венские классики и хрестоматийные квартеты, саундтреки из «Амели», «Властелина колец» и «Гарри Поттера», каверы Muse, Coldplay, Queen, Scorpions, Beatles, Adele и Depeche Mode. Отдельными блоками идут танго и вальсы, советские песни и музыка из старого кино.

The girls write their own arrangements, so the program is built around a specific event rather than chosen from a fixed list. There is also a special piece — an acoustic version of the electronic Enter the Matrix, where four instruments play without a single effect. The quartet feels equally confident in a hall with good acoustics and on an open-air stage with sound reinforcement, so the format of the space imposes no restrictions.

St. Petersburg and travel across the country. They perform at business receptions and guest welcome events, company anniversaries, presentations and New Year's parties, and there is a separate children's program “Classics for Children” with music from cartoons.
