Guests have already settled in, some are standing by the bar, some are discussing the last quarter — and then a table with cards appears in the corner of the hall. Ten minutes later a line forms at it: people sit down one at a time, linger for five to seven minutes and leave with a smile. This is that very moment when a corporate event stops being a mandatory obligation.

Iolanta has been working with cards for over twenty-five years, nine of which she has spent working specifically at events — including large venues with up to six hundred guests at a time. She knows all types of cards, brings her own props and several stage looks for the client to choose from. She only gives positive readings — no scary predictions or uncomfortable questions; the guest feels intrigued, not anxious.

Her corner doesn't look like a table in a passageway: Iolanta designs the area so that it reads as a separate part of the evening, not an appendage to the banquet. The format works at two points in the program — in the welcome zone while guests are gathering, and in the second half when pauses appear between blocks and people need something to occupy themselves with. The queue moves on its own; the host doesn't have to organize it.
