SKYPOINT STUDIO — Upper

VERKHNIY (The Upper) is a bright attic-style hall on the top floor of SKYPOINT STUDIO, with white brick, a poured-resin floor and a huge wall-to-ceiling window that partly continues into the ceiling. The windows open onto a panorama of the city with a view of the Peter and Paul Fortress, and the morning sun floods the space until about noon. The atmosphere is airy and photogenic rather than industrial: a leather sofa, an elm table, a movable wall, a full-length mirror and decor pieces such as colorful cubes and tall stepladders.

The hall covers 80 square meters, with a sloping ceiling from 3 to 5 meters, and holds up to 50 people. Formats can vary: banquet, standing reception, party, shoot or conference, and the seating and layout are easy to adapt to your scenario. The hall has a flipchart, two air conditioners, lighting for photo and video, a refrigerator, a microwave and a shower, plus a dressing room. Noise is allowed after 23:00. Access is via a spiral staircase, which is worth bearing in mind when carrying heavy equipment.

The venue is convenient for corporate events thanks to its flexibility: food and alcohol can be brought along, including by ordering delivery. Large windows and a 6-meter-wide cyclorama with a 3.5-meter projection are handy for shoots and photo zone decor. During sunny hours the hall can get hot in the daytime, and complete blackout with curtains is not guaranteed — for a light-sensitive program, it is better to choose the evening.
