About the artist

The plenary session has been going on for forty minutes, and half the audience with headsets is catching not the meaning but fragments of phrases: the speaker jokes, refers to EU regulations, and without accurate interpreting the audience loses the thread. Who sits in the interpreter booth determines whether your guests will grasp the key idea of the report — or spend the whole day asking each other what was meant.

Svetlana Kromer is a conference interpreter with a master's degree in conference interpreting from Heidelberg University, class of 2017. She works in Russian–German, German–Russian, and English–Russian combinations. She provides simultaneous interpreting, whispering for VIPs, consecutive and liaison interpreting. She is a sworn translator of Russian and a member of the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators BDÜ. She has been working as a freelance conference interpreter since 2017 and is based in Stuttgart.

On site it looks like this: a booth, headsets, the speaker dives into terminology or a fast pace — and the audience still understands every word. Whispered interpreting allows accompanying delegation negotiations without pauses in the program, consecutive interpreting maintains the structure of official speeches. For the client, the difference is simple: fewer clarifying questions in the corridors, more substantive conversations after the session.

Stuttgart is our working base, so events in Germany and across Europe are convenient to plan with logistics in mind. Formats: corporate event with international guests, company anniversary, product presentation, New Year's evening with foreign partners.
