About the artist

Here's a familiar situation: a foreign speaker from the UN or SCO takes the stage, and half the audience doesn't understand a word. The program is running late, questions hang in the air, and the event needs saving urgently. That's where Alexey Svistunov steps in — a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter called upon when the cost of error is too high.

Alexey works with Russian, English, and French and has been in the profession since 2016. He is a graduate of St. Petersburg State University in philology and translation, as well as the Herzen State Pedagogical University Higher School of Translation (SCIT) — a specialized school for training conference interpreters. His regular clients include UN structures, the SCO, BRICS, the Red Cross, the Association of European Businesses, government bodies of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as industrial and medical organizations in the CIS.

On site it looks like this: Alexey works in the booth or sight-translates, keeping up with terminology at the speaker's pace. He holds the context of the speech in his head rather than just translating words, so delegates hear coherent speech, not choppy phrases. He shares insights into booth work on his Telegram channel 'Interpreter on a Coffee Break' and in a video blog about the profession, so the client knows in advance how everything will be arranged.

Alexey is based in Kazakhstan, travels to events, and works remotely — convenient for corporate parties, company anniversaries, presentations, and New Year's Eve celebrations with international guests. If your program includes a foreign speaker or delegation, leave your number — we'll check availability and quote the fee.
