Simultaneous interpreter Anna Chumanskaya

The meeting with German partners is scheduled for ten in the morning, and the interpreter hasn't confirmed yet — and you're frantically scrolling through emails, trying to remember who recommended whom. With business negotiations in three languages, there's no room for error: one inaccurate wording in a contract or at a press conference costs more than the entire event budget.

Anna Chumanskaya is a simultaneous interpreter with German, Russian, and English. Her first degree is in law, and in Germany she is publicly appointed and sworn as an interpreter — meaning she works where legal precision of wording is required. She has been working as an oral interpreter since 2009, with 14 years of practice: negotiations and conferences, simultaneous and consecutive support of academic lectures at universities, notarial and court hearings.

The difference of such an interpreter is that they hear not only the words but also the meaning of what is said. On site, it looks calm: Anna keeps up with the speaker's pace, doesn't stumble on terminology, and if the speaker deviates from the points, she brings the audience back to the essence. A legal background helps where an ordinary interpreter starts guessing.
