About the artist

Negotiations with Turkish partners go well until it comes to numbers and deadlines. Here, language skills at the 'read with a dictionary' level stop working: precision of wording is needed, not general meaning. Such meetings require an interpreter who hears not only words but also context.

Elena Oganova is an active Turkish language interpreter, working in consecutive and simultaneous formats. Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Turkic Philology at the Institute of Asian and African Studies, Moscow State University: has been teaching Turkish language, Turkish literature, and translation since 1999. Leads a course in interpreting and trains Turkologist interpreters. Author of educational and methodological complexes on translating Turkish-Russian press, on practical grammar of modern Turkish, and on working with literary texts. Corresponding Member of the Turkish Linguistic Society (Türk Dil Kurumu).

On site it looks like this: the speaker says a phrase — and a few seconds later the audience hears it in another language without loss and without hesitation. The simultaneous format keeps up the pace of the event, while consecutive interpretation allows time for precise wording in negotiations. Her background includes work with the press, grammar, and literary texts, so both business terminology and complex statements by speakers sound equally confident.

Moscow is the main city of work; formats include a corporate event with a Turkish delegation, a company anniversary, a presentation, a New Year's evening with guests from Turkey. Leave your number — we will check an available date and quote the fee.
